Std X student drugged, raped, filmed on mobile

HE ALLEGEDLY drugged a 15-year-old, raped her, filmed her on his cellphone and sent the MMS clip to his friends.

In the first week of March, a week after the girl, a Std X student, filed a rape complaint at the Nallasopara police station, the 30-year-old man and two of his friends (aged 22 and 18) were arrested. The Nallasopara police haven’t revealed their names.

‘‘We are not revealing the names of the accused and the victim as her family requested it,’’ said Senior Police Inspector Bajirao Bhosale. ‘‘If the names get out, the family fears their daughter’s name will be maligned.’’

According to the police, the alleged rapist and the girl were well acquainted and lived in the same locality. One of the alleged rapist’s friends shot the rape on a Nokia cellphone and the trio later burnt a CD of the MMS clip, the police added.

The police have seized the cellphone and the CD, which they said was not distributed in public.

‘‘We still have to take detailed statements from the girl to know what exactly happened,’’ said Bhosale. ‘‘We are waiting for her exams to get over.’’

All three accused were remanded to judicial custody.
